Calming medications for animals are specially formulated products for dogs and cats, designed to reduce excitability and correct psychogenic behavioral disorders such as stress, phobias, unprovoked aggression, and increased sexual arousal. They are usually produced in the form of a liquid solution for oral administration, containing active substances (for example, phenibut) combined with natural calming extracts. These medications are effective in correcting behavioral issues such as aggression, fear, hyperactivity, excessive vocalization, and territorial marking. They are administered in courses lasting from 15–20 days up to 4 weeks, with individual dosage depending on the animal’s weight. They can also be used preventively before stressful situations such as environmental changes, competitions, or transportation. It is important to note that these medications have contraindications and may cause side effects; therefore, the instructions should be carefully read and a veterinarian should be consulted before use.
